How to renew Saudi Arabia visit visa officially? A directive outlining the procedure for renewing visit visas was released by the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat).

Here’s how to renew Saudi Arabia visit visa officially

The electronic services platform Absher operated by the Ministry of Interior can be used to extend single-entry visit visas, according to the directorate.

Through Absher Afrad (for individuals), Absher Aamal (for businesses), and the Muqeem online portal, this is possible.

Holders of various visit visas in the Kingdom have also been urged by the authorities to strictly abide by visa requirements.

In addition, they are now able to electronically extend their visas up to seven days prior to expiration, eliminating the requirement for in-person visits to Jawazat offices.

The beneficiary only has to log into their Absher account, pay the required service fee, and confirm they have current health insurance in order to proceed with the extension.

According to the Saudi Gazette, the process for extending a visa must follow certain guidelines, and the total extension period cannot be longer than 180 days.

Visa holders have the choice to contact Jawazat through the communication service of the Absher platform if they experience problems using this electronic service.

As stated in a release by the directorate, the committed team of the directorate will then review the case and communicate the status of the request via text message.

Saudi Arabia is quickly changing its visa policies in an effort to draw tourists as part of its Vision 2030, which calls for increasing the contribution of the tourism sector to the GDP and creating one million new jobs.

The data also paints a positive picture, with the holy Kingdom recording 94 million visits in 2022—a remarkable increase of 93 percent from the year before—resulting in SR185 billion ($49 billion) in tourism expenditures.

By 2030, Saudi Arabia’s authorities anticipate 100 million visitors, increasing the sector’s contribution to the country’s GDP to 10%. The country welcomed pilgrims in such large numbers for the first time since Covid-19 when it managed to host more than 2 million Hajj pilgrims this year.
