SRK’s ‘Jawan’ becomes the top Indian film of 2023.

Shah Rukh Khan, currently regarded as the king of Bollywood, has once more accomplished a remarkable feat.

His most recent film, “Jawan,” not only performed better than his previous release, “Pathaan,” but also won the prized top spot among Indian films in 2023.

A father-son team’s unwavering determination to fight corruption in Indian society is the subject of the captivating story “Jawan,” which stormed into theatres on September 7 and broke the previous record for Bollywood’s opening day earnings.

As SRK’s ‘Jawan’ becomes the top Indian film of 2023, according to Variety, it has since amassed a staggering $130.3 million, surpassing the $126 million that ‘Pathaan,’ which debuted in January, amassed.

Aamir Khan’s 2016 film “Dangal” dominates this esteemed chart at the top with an impressive $244 million, largely due to its incredible success in China.

With $219 million and $159 million, S.S. Rajamouli’s “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” (2017) and the most recent blockbuster “RRR” (2022) are closely behind. With a sizable $151 million, Prashant Neel’s ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ (2022) takes fifth place.

Both films are set for release on December 22nd: Prashant Neel’s “Salaar,” starring Prabhas from Baahubali, and Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming “Dunki,” starring Shah Rukh Khan. King Khan’s third release of 2023 will be this one.

While ‘Salaar’ promises fast-paced action, ‘Dunki’ puts comedy and drama front and centre.

Indian audiences are showing a voracious appetite for comedy, as evidenced by the successful franchise’s third installment, “Fukrey 3,” from Excel Entertainment, which had a commendable opening weekend with receipts of $6.6 million.
