Apple explained that due to increased background activity, iPhones may feel warmer during initial setup or device restoration.
Apple also noted that various third-party applications, including Asphalt 9, Instagram by Meta, and Uber, have been linked to system overloads.
Apple stated that they are working with the developers of these apps to put patches in place, with Instagram having already done so on September 27.

They further stated that the next iOS 17 bug update won’t affect the iPhone’s functionality in an effort to allay concerns about overheating.
Apple emphasised that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models’ design, which includes new titanium shells, actually improves heat dissipation in comparison to earlier stainless steel models.
Consequently, the structural layout of the device does not contribute to overheating.
Users may be confident that these overheating issues do not endanger the phone’s performance or safety, according to Apple.
