Since there are instances where hygienic standards are not met in eateries, it is common to find poor sanitation and improper food handling in inexpensive restaurants. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), a well-known fast food chain, is the most recent addition to the dismal list.

The second-largest restaurant chain is renowned for its special fried chicken recipe, which uses a blend of herbs and spices that is kept a secret. However, KFC decided to add a “forbidden ingredient” that could result in a life-threatening emergency.

Recent developments include the Rawalpindi district administration sealing the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Scheme-III outlet on Friday in response to a customer complaint about the kitchen’s unhygienic conditions.

As KFC Rawalpindi branch sealed over unhygienic conditions, Qandeel Fatima Memon, assistant commissioner cantonment, oversaw the operation and shut down the KFC location in Garrison City after a customer reported finding a steel wire inside a hamburger fillet.

After confirming the validity of the complaint, the district administration closed down the restaurant and issued a further warning, advising it to take care of its kitchen staff and method of food preparation.

According to officials, there will be no compromise on hygiene and the government will take stern action against those who were tampering with people’s health.

The news comes as a shock to KFC fans who frequently eat at restaurants.

However, this is not the first time that KFC has come under fire; in Okara, food authorities previously sealed a KFC outlet for giving customers fried chicken that was filled with maggots.
