Has NAB recovered Rs97 billion at PPP leader Shazia Marri’s house? Shazia Marri, a former member of the Sindh Provincial Assembly and a steadfast supporter of the PPP, is the most recent victim of false information and misinformation.
Many posts appeared on social media over the weekend purporting to depict enormous sums of money and gold that were supposedly taken from the home of the BISP chairwoman.
The posts were shared without verification by journalists and political activists, and the news turned out to be fake.

A social media post stated that the nation’s anti-graft body, NAB, had retrieved an astounding Rs 97 billion from the home of Shazia Marri, the former head of the Benazir Income Support Programme.
As the phoney story spread, other users, including Shazia herself, spoke up to refute the untrue allegations. According to the social media account “Expose Propaganda,” the images of money being attributed to PPP leaders are actually old photos.

The money and jewellery were found during a search of Municipal Commissioner Korangi’s Karachi home last year.
Shazia also used the platform X to thank individuals who exposed the lies and false news. The former minister reportedly threatened legal action against anyone spreading false information.
