Pakistan sees rise in AIDS patients as compared to other Asian countries

According to the Ministry of National Health Services, the number of AIDS patients in Pakistan has increased dramatically when compared to other Asian countries.

This stunning disclosure was made during a question-and-answer session in the Senate earlier today, which was chaired by Senate Deputy Chairman Mirza Afridi.

The government stated in its lengthy answer that the practise of reusing syringes and transfusion of unregulated blood bags was the primary cause of the disease’s spread.

Senator Mushtaq Ahmed of the Jamaat-e-Islami expressed alarm about the situation, saying that Pakistan is one of the 11 most dangerous countries in the world in terms of AIDS propagation, with 240,000 individuals affected.
