Toll on the Lahore-Islamabad M2 motorway has been increased.

The Lahore-Islamabad Motorway, also known as M-2, connects the two significant cities of Lahore and Islamabad and is frequently used by thousands of people. Because of the heavily used north-south motorway, Lahore and Islamabad may be accessed swiftly and conveniently.

The M-2 motorway is a toll road, nevertheless, since users are required to pay fees at several toll gates placed throughout the route. The fee contributes to the maintenance and development of the highway’s infrastructure.

The National Highway Authority (NHA) increased the tolls on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2) once more in late August.

The new tolls on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2) will go into effect on August 26 and be in place for the following year.

The National Highway Authority of Pakistan owns, maintains, and manages a network of multiple-lane, high-speed, controlled-access highways throughout Pakistan.

There are currently 2567 km of motorways in use, and 1191 km more are being built.

The “National Trade Corridor Project” and “China-Pakistan Belt Road Initiative” in Pakistan include the construction of highways from Khunjerab Pass, close to the Chinese border, to Gwadar in Balochistan.

There are 16 motorways in total, 11 of which are in use. The remaining motorways are either planned or under development.

All motorways in Pakistan are prefixed with the letter ‘M’ (for “Motorway”) followed by the unique numerical designation of the specific highway (with a hyphen in the middle), e.g. “M-1”.
