Billionaire Elon Musk to auction Twitter signs and other memorabilia.

Elon Musk is auctioning off Twitter building signs and other company memorabilia just weeks after the company rebranded as X.

Coffee tables, oversized bird cages, and oil paintings of viral images are among the 584 lots for sale.

There are also dozens of desks and chairs, a DJ booth, and enough musical instruments to outfit a band.

Mr. Musk has cut thousands of jobs since purchasing the social media platform last year in an effort to reduce costs.

One of the available Twitter signs is still attached to the company’s headquarters on 10th Street in San Francisco.

“The bird is still mounted on the building’s side.” “The buyer is responsible for hiring an SF Licenced Company with appropriate Permits,” according to the listing.

Authorities in San Francisco temporarily halted an attempt to remove a different Twitter sign last month.

Two other oil paintings of photographs that went viral on Twitter will be auctioned off as well.

The first is a star-studded selfie of Ellen Degeneres taken at the 2014 Academy Awards.

The other is of an image tweeted by then-US President Barack Obama after his re-election in November 2012. It was the most-liked tweet on the platform at the time.

Musical equipment ranging from guitars to drum kits and amplifiers, as well as a DJ booth with a controller, mixers, and speakers, is also up for grabs at the auction.

According to Heritage Global Partners, the minimum bid for each lot is $25 (£19.70).

Bidding will begin on September 12 and will end two days later.

The auction comes after Mr. Musk cut costs at Twitter following his $44 billion acquisition of the company.

He has made significant job cuts since purchasing Twitter, including laying off employees who tracked abuse on the platform. The way the company verifies accounts has also changed.

Twitter held an auction earlier this year of hundreds of items from its San Francisco headquarters.

The highest bid was $100,000 for a statue of its famous bird logo.

The blue bird logo was replaced with a black and white X in the firm’s branding last month.
