Who would win in Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg MMA fight? For those of you who are really “online,” you’ve definitely heard about a prospective cage match between Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg and Tesla’s Elon Musk. Even if you don’t like combat sports, Most of you would watch a fight between these two, even if you hope they both lose.
So how did we get up with a nerd brawl between two of Silicon Valley’s wealthiest CEOs? For the most part, it all began with tales of Zuckerberg engaging in local Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and even winning a few medals. According to some stories, Zuck was strangled out in another event, but experienced observers believe he simply tapped out and lost that match.
Here’s who would win in Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg MMA fight
All of the buzz surrounding Zuck’s martial arts tournaments ultimately reached Elon, who has to Tweet about everything, and he stated that he’s “up for a cage fight if he [Zuckerberg] is.” On Instagram, Zuck replied, “Send me the location.” Because the internet is unstoppable, this potential has become the tech/celebrity news that everyone is talking about. Because, let’s face it, this is far more interesting than whatever VR nonsense Meta is working on or the never-ending discussion about how Tesla’s “Full Self-Driving” is anything but.
UFC President Dana White has stated that the two are “Dead Serious” about this meeting, and I would expect that the UFC would want a share of the action if it happens.
If it does happen, who should you bet on? Let’s take a peek at a “tape story,” as they say.
Elon Musk is 51 years old, stands around six feet tall, and weighs between 180 and 200 pounds, according to most reports. That is a significant size advantage over Mark Zuckerberg, who is 38 years old, 5-foot-7, and weighs roughly 155 pounds. Zuck competed at the 149-pound weight limit in his latest BJJ fights. We may be talking about a weight difference of up to 50 pounds, and anyone who says “size doesn’t matter” is either lying or has never had a real physical encounter with someone who outweighed them.
Of course, if a fight were to take place, it’s unlikely that any athletic body would allow a battle with such a big weight disparity. Professional fighters have weight classifications for a reason. This would most likely be a “catchweight” match, with Zuck bulking up to 165 and Elon slimming down to 180. Musk continues to benefit from the 15-pound gap.
In contrast, Zuck brings more to the table to balance off the size advantage. For starters, he is younger, and unless a 52-year-old man is a determined athlete, he will struggle in any physical confrontation with someone 38.
The most important and obvious component here is training. Mark Zuckerberg has suddenly been obsessed with martial arts training. He’s been practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for approximately a year, and there’s a video of him performing some mixed martial arts training as well. He has sparred virtually with UFC champion Alex Volkanovski and on the mat with ONE FC grappling champ and BJJ phenom Mikey Muscemeci.
Zuck also performed some fencing in college, and while this clash will not feature swords, the athleticism, timing, and footwork of fencing will be evident.
Musk, unlike Zuckerberg, does not appear to have kept up with his training, but having that base will undoubtedly be beneficial if both parties agree on a training camp to prepare for this matchup.
Overall, Zuckerberg has a skill set edge, but Elon provides power. I give Zuck a 3-to-1 chance of beating Elon. Some may say this isn’t much of a contest, but Elon has a puncher’s chance, and Zuck is still new to combat sports, with proof of him making rookie blunders in competition.
If Zuck can keep his distance and secure a good takedown, he has a good chance of finishing in the first round through submission. On the other hand, if Musk really does have some wrestling talents, as he claims, this could be closer than most people think. Even an advanced BJJ practitioner might be outmatched by a good wrestler. If this turns into a grappling contest and Zuck pulls off one of “Darth Rigatoni’s” famous leglocks, Musk is unlikely to have an answer.
So it appears that Zuck is the betting favorite, with Elon still in the game if he can land the proper punch or show some good grappling. In terms of the likelihood of this conflict taking place… I’d say it’s somewhere between slim and none. But that would be entertaining to watch.
