A male passenger was arrested on Monday for allegedly harassing an air hostess while inebriated on board a Dubai-Amritsar flight.
Rajinder Singh, of Jalandhar’s Kotli village, allegedly got into a heated dispute with the air hostess on the Dubai-Amritsar flight and groped her on Saturday, according to police.
“The air hostess brought the matter to the attention of the crew. “The accused was allegedly drunk,” police stated.
The crew members then notified the Amritsar control room about the matter and the assistant security manager of the airline lodged a police complaint.
According to them, the culprit was apprehended following his arrival at the Shri Guru Ramdas ji International Airport here.
According to police, Singh was charged with Sections 354 (attack or criminal force on a lady with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture, or act designed to offend a woman’s modesty) of the Indian Penal Code.

Earlier, in another ‘peegate’ scandal, an Indian passenger was accused of urinating on a fellow passenger on a New York-Delhi flight.
The accused, Aryan Vohra, was caught urinating on a US passenger mid-flight on an American Airlines flight.
According to the details, the 21-year-old student from the United States was under the influence of alcohol. The accused was on an American Airlines (AA-292) flight to New Delhi when he was apprehended after landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The police registered a case under IPC and the Civil aviation act against him though the victim passenger flying in business class did not register a complaint against the accused. Meanwhile, India’s aviation regulator, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has also sought a detailed report from the airline.
