Rapper Badshah issues apology for using Lord Shiva's name in song Sanak

Badshah, a rapper, and performer issued an apology for offending people’s feelings when he released his most recent song, Sanak. On Monday, the rapper posted a statement on Instagram stating that he has already changed some of the song’s lyrics and would never intentionally or unintentionally offend anyone. Lord Shiva’s name and other profane terms in the lyrics of the song had drawn criticism.

A senior priest from the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain objected to the song last week and criticized Badshah for appropriating the name of Lord Shiva (Bholenath) and including certain explicit lyrics in the song. The artist has been requested by the priest to apologize and take the name of the god out of the song. According to an ANI report, he added that he will file an FIR against the rapper.

Now, Badshah has apologized for offending “some people” on Instagram and stated that a new version of the song is being prepared to replace the offending section. He stated in his letter, “It has come to my knowledge that one of my most recent albums, Sanak, regretfully appears to have offended the feelings of some people. I would never intentionally or unintentionally offend somebody. With the utmost sincerity and enthusiasm, I present my artistic works and musical compositions to you, my admirers. To further avoid harming anyone in light of this most recent development, I actively changed some of the song’s lyrics and implemented the replacement with this new version on all digital platforms.”

“The replacement process takes a few days before the changes will reflect on all platforms, I request everyone to be patient during this period. I humbly offer my sincerest apologies to those whom I may have unknowingly hurt. My fans remain my bedrock, and I shall always hold them in the highest esteem and with boundless affection. Love Badshah,” the note read.
