Court gives verdict in favor of Aishwarya Rai's daughter Aaradhya Bachchan

The Delhi High Court in India recently issued a groundbreaking decision in favor of Aaradhya Bachchan, the 11-year-old daughter of Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. Google LLC and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Grievance Cell) have been identified as additional parties in the dispute.

The lawsuit was launched against a YouTube channel that circulated false claims about the young girl’s ill health and even death, causing enormous pain to her family and fans.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Aaradhya has been the victim of false rumors. Abhishek Bachchan, her father, called out the media in 2021 for disseminating unauthorized images and videos of his daughter, stating that she was “out of bounds.” He called such conduct “unacceptable” and begged everyone to respect his daughter’s privacy.

The Delhi High Court reminded Google and YouTube of their social responsibilities in monitoring and regulating information on their platforms in this case. The court emphasized that anyone who earns from such content owes it to others, especially minors, to ensure that it does not hurt or slander them.

The court ruled in Aaradhya and the Bachchan family’s favor, noting that every child, regardless of their origin or paternity, deserves to be treated with dignity.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is an Indian actress who is primarily known for her work in Hindi and Tamil films. The winner of the Miss World 1994 pageant, she later established herself as one of the most popular and influential celebrities in India.
