In a private ceremony earlier this year, Pakistan’s top bowler Shaheen Afridi wed Ansha, the daughter of former captain Shahid Afridi.
The PSL8 champion Lahore Qalandars skipper recently appeared on a TV programme where he discussed his marriage and his partner in detail.
Shaheen Afridi said that he was the one who had considered getting married to Ansha in response to a query. He added that his mother had sent the marriage proposal and that Boom Boom Afridi and his brother were friends.
“We used to come across at family gatherings but didn’t actually meet each other,” he said.
When asked what aspect of his game his life partner enjoyed the best, Shaheen responded that she enjoyed both seeing him bat and bowl.
In terms of eating habits, Shaheen stated that Biryani is Ansha’s preferred dish. He said that she likes vegetables as well.
Shaheen Shah Afridi is a Pakistani professional cricketer who plays as a fast bowler for the Pakistan national cricket team and captains the PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars. He is regarded as one of the best bowlers in contemporary world cricket across all formats.
Under his leadership, Lahore Qalandars won their first PSL title in the 2022 season and again went on to win the 2023 season, becoming the first team in PSL history to successfully defend their title. He is the first Pakistani to win the Garfield Sobers trophy.
