KARACHI: The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) rescued eight trapped fishermen in the sea near Ormara on Sunday.
“The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre Pakistan got a distress call from the crew of a fishing boat known as Rehman Baba,” a representative for the PMSA said. “A fisherman on the phone alerted us that the boat’s engine had failed and sought assistance.”
The boat got trapped in the sea owing to rough and windy weather, according to the spokeswoman. A swift reaction boat was dispatched to the stated location in order to save stranded fishermen and their fishing vessel.
The boat was escorted to safety at Ormara Jetty by the PMSA boat. The crew of the boat received first-aid and meals at Ormara Base.
