Heavy tremors in Delhi after 6.2 Magnitude earthquake in Nepal

On Tuesday night, a 6.5 magnitude earthquake jolted Pakistan, killing at least nine people and injuring over 150. The casualties and injuries were mostly reported in northwest Pakistan, KPK, because the epicenter of the quake was in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

People panicked and fled their homes, offices, and public places. Social media videos circulated of perplexed citizens on the streets reciting Quranic verses.

A man holding a mobile phone outside Islamabad Savour Food, a well-known food chain in Pakistan, narrated chaotic scenes of people fleeing the eatery during tremors without paying the bills for the food in one of the videos.

Lamenting the attitude, the man said that while people were running to save their lives by reciting Quranic verses, they were ironically flouting the teachings of the holy book and that too during a disaster.

He, however, mentioned some of the customers who returned to pay their bills despite having the chance like others to get away.

A strong earthquake shook parts of Pakistan on Tuesday night.

The magnitude 7.7 earthquake affected India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan at 9:49 pm. The epicenter of the earthquake is said to be in Tajikistan.
