Sidney Sheldon says, “Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life.”
Public libraries play a paramount role in supporting the education and the intellectual well-being of the populace. But it is disheartening to mention that the only public library in Balochistan’s second-largest district in terms of population has been closed since January 2021 due to some structural reasons and the administration has not given any update following its closure.
It is known to everyone in the city that the Turbat public library is the only public library where many students consult the library where university and colleges students and students who aspire to prepare for competitive examinations go to this library, but now they are being deprived of the library because of the administration of the University of Turbat.
Youth is the hope of tomorrow and the change-makers of the future. Relevant authorities should take action against this closure of a public library.
