Who is anchor Sidra Iqbal?

Sidra Iqbal is a Pakistani TV host, anchor, PR professional, brand activist, and supporter of youth development.

Sidra is a graduate of Karachi’s Beaconhouse School.

Sidra worked as a Youth Ambassador during her time in school. She has also held positions with the British Council, ARY Digital, and Ogilvy and Mather.

Sidra has hosted numerous talk shows for radio and television.

The morning show Sidra hosts on Aj TV News is her most well-known work. Sidra has a charming personality, a stunning appearance, and high education.

She is one of the most attractive anchors and TV show hosts in Pakistan.

She is the first Pakistani to be presented with the GR8 Women Award for Journalism 2014 by the Government of UAE and the Indian Television Academy.

Sidra is an accomplished media strategist. Previously, she was Vice President, Public Relations at Ogilvy & Mather Pakistan.

As a young entrepreneur, she successfully launched Statuspro 360, an integrated PR communications firm.

In 2011, she founded Blinck, a thought leadership and advocacy group for young people.

Blinck has been at the forefront of efforts relating to promoting youth entrepreneurship and empowerment.

Sidra Iqbal won the English Speaking Union’s International Public Speaking Champion 1999 in London and was invited to Buckingham Palace to receive her Winner’s certificate from HRH the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip.

This early achievement catapulted her as a powerful voice of development activism in the international arena.

Sidra Iqbal successfully represented the youth of Pakistan at a number of power-packed forums in Australia, Cyprus, Japan, Turkey, UAE, the US, and many other countries throughout her college years. She was selected as an Advisor by the Ministry of Education for their global initiative ‘Women as Global Leaders’ at the Sheikh Zayed University in Dubai.

In 2007, she won a scholarship to attend the International Relations summer program at Oxford University.

Presently, She is the Academic Ambassador of two higher education initiatives in the country, namely; ACCA Pakistan and Habib University.

Over the last 8 years, she has gained an in-depth understanding of national and regional (South Asian) security, political, economic, governance, and human development challenges & environments, based on extensive experience in reporting Live, leading analytic discussions, and interviewing the public leaders from Pakistan and abroad.

Sidra’s television career highlights include; coverage of 2 national elections in Pakistan (2008 and 2013), special series of financial policy debates on Pakistan Federal Budgets from 2007 to 2014, covering & reporting the US-Pakistan & India-Pakistan strategic dialogues, hosting and producing the popular youth-issues-based TV show; ‘Mind The Gap’ and exclusive interviews of President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf, the slain Governor of Punjab Salman Taseer, Information Minister of India Ambika Soni, Former Minister of State UK Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Minister of Trade and Development of Netherlands Lilianne Ploumen, among many others.
