Biography: Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran

Abdul Rehman Khetran

After a woman and her two sons bullet-riddled bodies were discovered from a well close to his home in the Barkhan district area last night, Abdul Rehman Khetran, Balochistan’s Minister for Construction and Communications, denied having a private jail on Tuesday.

Police identified the victims as Giran Naz, the wife of Khan Muhammad Marri, who was 40–45 years old, and her two sons, Mohammad Nawaz, 20–25 years old, and Abdul Qadir, 15–17 years old.

Major (retd) Nasreen Rehman, one of Abdul Khetran’s wives, has twice held elected office in the provincial assembly (MPA).

Senior Pakistani military officer Lt. Colonel Tahir Shah Khetran is one of Khetran’s sons.

Ironically, Abdul Rehman Khetran, who is the father of 15 children, has also been given the portfolio of Population Welfare in the cabinet.

After Marri tribe members were discovered dead, law enforcement officers in the country’s southwest raided the home of Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran.

A woman and two men’s bodies were pulled from a well in the Barkhan district on Tuesday and transported to Quetta, the provincial capital.

Provincial authorities responded to Barkhan’s killing by taking action after tribe members demanded that MPA Khetran be subjected to a thorough investigation into the murders and claimed that five additional members of their family were being held captive in his private prison.

Meanwhile, no hostages were found at the location in a recent raid. As the incident made headlines, a joint investigation team was formed to submit a report.

Here’s how people are reacting to the allegations against Khetran:
