Fact check: Does the captive leopard belong to General (retd) Akram?

Lieutenant General (retired) Muhammad Akram has denied ownership of a leopard caught in Islamabad on Thursday.

According to the inquiry, it has been revealed that the social media’s claims that the leopard belonged to Lt Gen retired Akram turned out to be false.

Lt Gen retired Akram’s residence in DHA Islamabad does not have a basement or a leopard cage.

The social media claim that he had two more cheetahs in his house was equally incorrect. The million-dollar question is now, where did the cheetah come from in DHA Islamabad?

A “pet” leopard escaped from its owner on Thursday and roamed the streets of DHA phase II Islamabad, for hours, mauling six people before being shot with a sedation dart.

The fun part is social media users are mocking its police and how everyone knows who owned the exotic animal except for the cops.

Since Friday morning social media users have been expressing outrage on many things such as:

a) How an exotic wild animal can be kept in a residential area. b) None of the leopard’s owners trained their domestic workers to keep the leopard in a cage or protect people from it.

c) The owners literally failed to keep safe.

It has been reported that the owner of the leopard is a retired general.

In an interview with the media, Gen Akram debunked the notion that he harbored the unusual animal, claiming that it is highly commendable to launch unfounded propaganda against him.

It has been discovered that the DHA management has approached the accused who transported the cheetah into the residential area.

The wild animal appeared in the area a few days ago.

As soon as the matter came into the spotlight, the administration sprang into action. It added that the investigation into the matter is going on. “We are close to getting the matter, the results of the investigation will be shared with the public.”
