Government to provide mental health assistance via ‘Humraaz’ app. The government recently launched a mental health assistance app for people, which offers free basic assistance to those in need.
Despite its poor design, the application guides users to how they are feeling in the moment and helps them explore what they may be experiencing and what assistance they may require.
Users can select from a long list of options regarding their current feelings and emotional state and are then prompted to select the severity level of those feelings in order to measure the acuteness of the symptoms as accurately as possible. Humraaz provides an automatic diagnosis with just two questions, along with advice on how to deal with it.
The platform offers quick support by phoning the hotline number for aid or assisting you in finding a psychologist. It also offers relaxing resources like general mental health articles to browse through, films, and a group text to discuss your concerns.
The calming material consists of numbered articles about stress or homicide and how to recognize and deal with it. There are only one or two videos that direct users to a YouTube video of a doctor discussing your diagnosed issue. The Humraaz group chat shows a large number of people online, but there is a bug in which texts are not sent or displayed on the chat screen.
Though the concept of Humraaz is thoughtful and an important requirement for Pakistanis today, the application’s execution has fallen short of the standards that such platforms require. Government to provide mental health assistance via ‘Humraaz’ app.
The search for psychologists in the area has no data and does not provide information on psychologists with whom users can schedule an appointment. Users are also required to sign in with their phone number, CNIC, or email address, so anonymity is not preserved within the application.
