Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Board of Directors (BODs) has sanctioned Rs 570 million for the immediate purchase of operational vehicles. This was decided in a 219/13th board meeting by Syed Husnain Haider, held at FESCO headquarters.
The meeting was told that FESCO was spending vast amounts on the maintenance of vehicles, and FESCO staff was also facing problems while redressing the consumers’ complaints. BODs decided to replace these vehicles. According to this decision, the old redundant and obsolete cars could be substituted for the instant redressal of consumers’ complaints. He said that the company could also save Rs.40 million per annum from the head of fuel and maintenance. He further said that as per the decision, 66 trucks, 34 single cabin, and 35 Shahzore loader mini trucks were being purchased immediately.
Engineer Bashir Ahmed, CEO of FESCO, has directed to speed up the purchase process and hoped that a new fleet of vehicles would be inducted as soon as its delivery was made. New operation vehicles would particularly help in gearing up maintenance work in far-flung areas of Darya Khan, Bhakkar, Mianwali, and GSC and other directorates.
