RAWALPINDI: Robbers killed a young man in the New Town police jurisdiction for resisting a robbery attempt.
The victim was identified as Sajjad Hussain, a Skardu resident.
After Hussain resisted the robbers stealing his phone on Fourth B Road, the robbers opened fire and shot him.
The victims had come to Rawalpindi looking for a better career. After an examination, police handed the victim’s remains over to the heirs and filed a robbery and murder charge against the unnamed suspect.
Sajjad Hussain was stopped by two unidentified criminals on a motorcycle on Fourth B Road and tried to grab his cellphone between Monday and Tuesday night, according to the victim’s uncle Muhammad Younis.
One of the robbers opened fire with a pistol after Sajjad Hussain fought. Sajjad Hussain was shot in the shoulder and his face was pierced. He was sent to Holy Family Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
On Muhammad Younis’ allegation, police said they had initiated a case against unknown people.
