On Tuesday, Asad Umar, the head of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), said the government has reached “another big milestone” in its fight against the Covid-19 epidemic by partially inoculating at least 100 million people.
“Of these nearly 75 million are fully vaccinated,” Umar said in a tweet, adding that the ‘work was not complete yet’.

Earlier, Planning Minister Umar reaffirmed his demand for all provinces to strictly adhere to the non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) and the mandatory regime in order to prevent the development of Covid-19’s fifth wave.
People who have not yet been vaccinated should get the vaccinations as soon as possible, according to Umar, while those who were fully vaccinated six months ago should obtain a booster dosage.
The minister chaired a ceremony at NCOC Headquarters to award gratitude certificates and shields to the organization’s provincial and district teams for meeting immunisation targets and assisting in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
He also praised the coordinated efforts of all ground workers, vaccination teams, NCOC, health professionals, and federal and provincial authorities in making the government’s anti-Covid campaign a success.
