A picture that appears to show Russian President Vladimir Putin reading a book written by the former prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, is going viral on social media.
Putin can be seen reading through the book, “Pakistan: A Personal History,” which has Imran Khan’s photo on the cover page.
The PTI followers boasted about the impact of their leader while extensively disseminating the photographs on Twitter, with one saying, “We are happy to have a leader like Imran Khan.”
However, it is now confirmed by an international media outlet that the viral image is fake. Someone had edited a real image that was taken in 2016 when Putin met with the president of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the director of the Federal Agency for Scientific Organisation.
In the real image, the Russian president is reading a book on the development and prosperity of his country, according to AFP Fact Check.
