Shireen Mazari, the Federal Minister for Human Rights, tested positive for Covid-19, raising fears of a fifth wave of the pandemic fueled by the extremely contagious Omicron form.
Mazari has been quarantined after being tested positive, according to Express News, which cited sources.
President Arif Alvi was tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time last week. “I tested [posit]+ive for Covid once more. I’ve had a sore throat for about 4-5 days and it’s getting better “On his official Twitter account, the president confirmed the news.
He experienced a minor fever for a few hours two nights ago and no other symptoms, he claimed. President Alvi advised citizens to exercise prudence and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Alvi and Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak were both sick with the dangerous ailment in March of last year.
