FIA arrests three officials of PMD over corruption charges

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle detained three important officials of the Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) on corruption accusations on Wednesday.

The FIA Islamabad zone undertook a raid and arrested three senior officials from the weather department who were involved in the misuse of finances, according to details.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the accused allegedly caused a loss of Rs7 million to the national kitty as a result of their wrongdoings.

Former Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) Director Mushtaq Hussain, Director Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRMC) Peshawar Mushtaq Hussain, and Director C-Tech Sohail Sati are among the officials.

In the Sindh province’s Naushahro Feroze district, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) caught a group allegedly involved in scamming people in the guise of the Ehsaas programme on December 31.
