Four Policemen injured while an unknown number of terrorists were killed as militants attacked Takwarra Check post of Kulachi Tehsil with rocket launchers and sophisticated weapons, a police spokesman said here on Friday.
District Police Spokesman Yaqoob Shah told The Asian Mirror that, in the wee hours of Friday unknown militants stormed the Takwarra Checkpost of Kulachi Tehsil.
In retaliation, Police responded promptly and also opened fire on the terrorists. After an intense exchange of fire between Police and militants, the militants escaped from the scene.
The Police Spokesman added, four policemen sustained injuries during the exchange of fire while police have no information about the casualties of militants who escaped after the attack.
“About 17 to 18 rockets were launched by Rocket-propelled Grenades (RPGs) and about 25 to 27 hand grenades were used by militants in the attack,” the police spokesman told The Asian Mirror, adding that Police also launched a search operation in the entire area.
As soon as the incident was reported, District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Shoaib Khan and Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Saddar Circle Hafiz Muhammad Adnan arrived at the site and supervised the search operation.
However, a day earlier on Thursday a search and strike operation was conducted in the same Takwarra area of Kulachi Tehsil by police in which 40 houses including the suspected hideouts of terrorists were searched from which 1 SMG rifle 303 bores, 1 pistol 30 bore, and 20 cartridges were recovered while 06 suspects were also arrested.
