Two back-to-back terrorist attacks in D I Khan; police foiled terrorist attempt

Terrorists conducted back-to-back attacks on the Kulachi Police Mobile van and Armoured personnel carrier (APC) with sophisticated weapons and Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), retaliatory firing police failed both attacks, a police spokesman told The Asian Mirror on Saturday.

District Police Spokesman Syed Yaqoob Shah Bukhari told The Asian Mirror, on Saturday morning some terrorists attacked the mobile van of Kulachi Police with sophisticated force.

In retaliation, the Kulachi Police personnel under the command of the Station House Officer Kulachi Police Station opened fire on terrorists. As a result of which, the terrorists fled from the scene.

After the first incident, the terrorists planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the way of an Armoured personnel carrier (APC) of Kulachi Police in the Loni area of Kulachi police station.

As the police APC reached the site where the IED was planted, an explosion occurred after which the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on the Police force. The Police personnel in retaliatory fire successfully failed the terrorist attack but the terrorist again managed to escape from the scene.

According to the Police Spokesman, no casualties were reported on both side.

As soon as the incident was reported to District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan Muhammad Shoaib, he felicitated the policemen for their counter-attacks.
