Punjab’s digitised crop inspection system enters final stage

Board of Revenue Senior Member Babar Hayat Tarar says the government was working to provide a comprehensive system of revenue across Punjab

The Punjab Board of Revenue’s reform plan to establish ‘Digitised Girdawari’ and rural malls across the province has entered its final stages.

By the end of this month, more than 5,000 mall centres in the province would be fully operational, while a plan for ‘Digitised Gardawri’ had also been finalised. It may be recalled that Punjab Board of Revenue Senior Member Babr Hayat Tarar had launched several schemes to bring reforms in the province’s revenue sector to alleviate the problems related to the people’s property and bring innovation in facilities and systems.

These projects included digitisation of lands across the province, establishing rural malls, and restoring the numbered and watchdog system in its original form in the province, which is being implemented.

Board of Revenue Senior Member Babar Hayat Tarar visited the districts Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib and inaugurated the Land Record Center in Machhrala District, Nankana Sahib. Along with his team, Secretary Taxes Shafqatullah Mushtaq and Deputy Secretary Rumaan Barana inspected the ‘Digitised Girdawari’ at various places in Nankana Sahib.

Nankana Sahib Deputy Commissioner Shahid Pervez and Additional Deputy Commissioner Janat were also present. The senior member listened to the people’s problems in open court in Nankana Sahib and ordered their redressal on the spot.

On occasion, Babr Tarar said that the government was working on providing a comprehensive revenue system across Punjab, which would offer revenue-related services to the people at their doorsteps, and Patwari Numberdar and chowkidar would be available. He added that a complete system for immediate response to natural disasters was being introduced through systematic coordination.

‘Digitized Girdawari’ will eliminate land grabbing and increase crop tax and increase national income in terms of agricultural tax. Earlier, on the direction of a senior member, secretary taxes and deputy secretary staff visited Sheikhupura, where public issues were heard in an open court. The team was briefed about the steps to be taken to prevent erosion and smog.

A delegation of Punjab Revenue Journalists Association also accompanied the senior member, including Chairman Muhammad Nawaz Sangra, President Shabbir Haider Zafar, Senior Vice President Amir Butt, Joint Secretary Jaffar Bin Yar and Member Rabb Nawaz.
