On Sunday, after their team finally won the FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy after nearly forty years, Argentine football fans rejoiced to the core of their beings.
Argentina finally won the coveted trophy for the second time after 36 years. Lionel Messi has now joined the late legend Maradona, who led his team to victory in the 1986 World Cup.
Argentina and France’s world championship match ended 3-3 after extra time, forcing a penalty shootout. Messi defeated France on penalties 4-2 to win the match.
The victory sparked joyous celebrations throughout Argentina as thousands of people flocked to the streets to honor their teammate and hero Messi.
