Cricket da Pawa, Babar Lawa: Fans hold placard during match

Cricket enthusiasm is at an all-time high as supporters watch the historic Test series between Pakistan and England, which is taking place on Pakistani soil for the first time in 17 years.

Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has a large fan base both on and off the field, and in order to show their support, they have come up with creative ways to pay tribute to him.

One such effort was seen at Multan Cricket Stadium when a spectator was hoisting a banner that referred to Pakistan’s most recent social media hit.

One of the fans held up a placard that said, “Cricket Da Pawa, Babar Lawa.”

Pakistani netizens on all social media platforms Instagram, YouTube Reels, TikTok, Facebook short videos, and almost all other sites are enjoying nowadays ‘Lahore Da Pawa, Akhtar Lawa’ trend triggered by a Lahore-based politician and businessman.

Akhtar Lawa became an internet sensation when his clips chanted his pet dialogue Lahore Da Pawa, Akhtar Lawa with his unique gesture of hands with ‘fake energy’ made rounds on social media.

Even Westerners from UK and Australians have uploaded videos of Akhtar Lawa in their own English-Punjabi accent which are hilarious to watch.

Although Pakistani cricket captain Babar Azam lost the first Test match, he is desperate to win the series.

Unfortunately, Babar Azam had to leave the pavilion early in the first session of Day 2 of the second Test match in Multan after hitting 75 runs.

Another of his supporters was photographed with a banner that read “Babar Army.”
