PESHAWAR: Earthquake vibrations were felt in numerous parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Gilgit-Baltistan on Saturday evening, according to the National Seismological and Meteorological Centre.
The quake had a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter Scale, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC).
The earthquake had a depth of 180 kilometres, according to NSMC, and its epicentre occurred near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.
Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Swat, Malakand, Swabi, Lower Dir, Chitral, and other parts of the province felt the tremors.
Tremors were also felt in Gilgit, Chilas, Jagloot, Astore, and other nearby areas in the GB region.
People fled their homes in terror when they felt the earthquakes, reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
On Friday morning, the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) was rattled by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8.
The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) stated that a 5.8 magnitude earthquake jolted Mingora, Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Hazara, and other province cities, sending residents fleeing their homes in fear.
According to the monitoring centre, it had a depth of 180 kilometres and its epicentre was on the Afghan-Tajik border.
Earthquake tremors were also felt in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on December 25.
