Punjab announces winter holiday schedule
The public and private schools and colleges in the province of Punjab now have a two-phased winter break schedule.
According to reports, 24 districts in Punjab would close their schools and institutions for the winter holidays in two separate phases, from 23 December 2022 to 6 January 2023 and from 3 to 13 January, respectively.
Sahiwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Pakpattan, Sheikupura, Okara, Vehari, Lahore, Khanewal, Khushab, Hafizabad, Multan, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Lodhran, Nankana Sahib, and Jhang are among the areas that will celebrate winter holiday.
Also beginning on January 3 and ending on January 13 are the following districts: Rajanpur, Jhelum, Mianwali, Attock, Muzaffargarh, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Rawalpindi, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, and Chiniot.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the Chief Minister of Punjab, presided over a high-level meeting on Tuesday to assess higher education in the province and enhance it in line with international standards.
In order to promote a healthy lifestyle in society, it was resolved during the meeting to reinstate athletic activities in all educational institutions. Participants in the discussion also emphasised the colleges’ financial independence.
The conference was attended by the chief minister’s advisor, Aamir Saeed Raan, the chief secretary, Abdullah Sumbal, the secretary of higher education, and other pertinent officials.
