Is lobbying to make Lt Gen Faiz Hameed the next Army Chief true?

According to sources, a secret lobbying plan of retired government officers and retired bureaucrats living abroad in favor of former DGISI and Corps Commander Peshawar General Faiz Hameed through a WhatsApp group has been exposed.

Enforcing martial law in the country by making former DGISI and Corps Commander Peshawar General Faiz Hameed the next army chief by lobbying against the current army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and other senior generals at the national and international level was being discussed in the WhatsApp group.

A WhatsApp group ‘Across Border’ according to sources has Lt Gen Faiz Hameed’s photo and the group also includes retired government officers and bureaucrats who are lobbying to make Lt Gen Faiz Hameed the future army chief speculations of imposing martial law in the state.

Under Pakistani Army law, one needs to have a tenure of at least six months as the Corps Commander to be eligible to become Army chief. Lt Gen Hameed, who is known as a hardliner and for being ruthless in his approach, is scheduled to retire only in April 2023. Everyone in Pakistan is curious about who will take the throne of the next Army Chief in Pakistan. Lt Gen Hameed can be the next Army Chief.
