According to sources, a secret lobbying plan of retired government officers and retired bureaucrats living abroad in favor of former DGISI and Corps Commander Peshawar General Faiz Hameed through a WhatsApp group has been exposed.

Under Pakistani Army law, one needs to have a tenure of at least six months as the Corps Commander to be eligible to become Army chief.
