Citizens are warned by DC Islamabad about Leopards in the Capital

DC Islamabad has warned the citizens about Leopards in the Capital.

After leopards were spotted in several residential areas of the federal capital, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, issued instructions for the safety and awareness of the populace.

A few motorcyclists slipped and suffered injuries after witnessing a leopard close to Gokina village, according to DC Islamabad, who urged people to go on Monal Road in groups of two to three motorcycles.

In order to spread the word about the warning and urge people to avoid travelling alone on foot or by motorcycle, he also mentioned that a police roadblock on Monal Road had been ordered.

Additionally, DC Islamabad stated that the wildlife department patrolling squad has been sent and that efforts are being made to capture the leopard.

Meanwhile, trail 3 has been closed.

The government of the federal capital has meantime urged the locals to maintain peace while police officers and the wildlife department are posted nearby.

Call the police helpline at (15) if there is ever an emergency, he advised.

It is the country’s ninth-most populous city with a population of over 1.2 million people and is federally administered by the Pakistani government as part of the Islamabad Capital Territory.
