KARACHI: Met Office forecasts rainfall in several districts of Karachi. Rainfall is expected in Sindh’s Karachi, Dadu, Thatta, Jamshoro, Badin, Larkana, Mirpur Khas, and Hyderabad districts on Monday, according to the Met Office (today).
Weather conditions are partly cloudy to cloudy in many regions around the province, with rain possible today.
Dry weather is expected to prevail today in Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and other districts of the province, with cool and cold nights and foggy mornings.
On Monday, the weather in Karachi turned cool due to the early morning drizzling. Sohrab Goth, Gulzar Hijri, Orangi, SITE Area, Nazimabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Saddar, and other areas recorded rain. The weather in Karachi became colder as the mercury dipped due to early morning showers.
The Met Office reports that gloomy conditions persist over the city, with heavy clouds hovering above Karachi. The meteorological office says, “A westerly weather system has invaded Balochistan from Iran, which may bring moderate rainfall to Karachi.”

Rainfall is expected in northeastern Punjab, higher Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, lower Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, and coastal Sindh, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
According to the PMD, “fog/smog will envelop the plains of Punjab, limiting visibility limits at night and in the morning.”
Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Ziarat, Kohlu, Sibbi, Barkhan and Khuzdar, Naukkundi, Dalbandin, Pishin, and Naseerabad all received snow or rain as a result of the weather system.
Rain is water droplets that have condensed from atmospheric water vapor and then fall under gravity. Rain is a major component of the water cycle and is responsible for depositing most of the fresh water on the Earth. It provides water for hydroelectric power plants, crop irrigation, and suitable conditions for many types of ecosystems.
