Since morning, the hashtag “Sherlock Holmes” has been trending on social media. You would have assumed that meant Henry Cavill, who recently played the legendary detective in a film, but to our surprise, Imran Khan is the Twitterati’s Sherlock Holmes.
Media freedom is without doubt a wonderful thing. However, freedom occasionally has a price. Imran Khan experienced the same thing when he was interviewed by Chinese media.
The former prime minister was referred to as “Sherlock Holmes” throughout the interview because he thought the opposition party was responsible for the attack.
Khan was acting somewhat like Sherlock Holmes, therefore she compared him to Holmes, according to the interview. The interview, however, was poorly received by online users, who called the Chinese journalist immature and impolite.
Khan cannot answer the questions with proofs so he manoeuvres his way out of the questions by acting like Sherlock Holmes. https://t.co/jetNfJzw1p

I compared Pakistan’s former prime minister, Imran Khan, to populist strongman Jair Bolsonaro. To his credit, he took it okay. In the full interview I also told him he was acting a bit like Sherlock Holmes so there was a lot going on! 📺 Watch! @dwnews: https://t.co/LhieRYeh9t pic.twitter.com/IosSqViJ6b
