Politics of blue-eyed must come to an end: PDM chief

Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazl Rehman on Tuesday said no compromise would be made on supremacy of law and constitution.

Addressing a press conference here, the PDM chief said that the country’s institutions should be apolitical and the politics that favored the blue-eyed ones should come to an end by the institutions whether it was army or the judiciary or the Election Commission of Pakistan.

He said that when conflicting decisions were made by the courts then it created confusion and hurt the confidence of people.

He said Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said Pakistan’s respect should not be compromised and no face savings should be given to PTI.

“I want to convey a message to my own government and Prime Minister that no dialogue offers should be given to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),” he added.

He said PTI’s long march had failed as they could not gather more than 2000 people and that was why they were not coming to Islamabad.

He opined that the PTI march could not reach Islamabad as they do not have public support, adding, it would be ended before reaching the federal capital.

Fazl said they were talking about supply of arms so that anything untoward happened and they do politics over dead bodies.

He said their ministers were talking in a way as if PTI is a terrorist organization who did not believe in politics and arguments but believe in using of arms only. They want to blackmail the government by entering into Islamabad.

He was of the view that political stability was must in the democratic system as it leads to economic stability. He said the supremacy of law and constitution must be ensured.

For the first time, the chief of a national institution had to come for clearing things as the steps taken by the PTI threatened the state and they wanted political and economic instability and chaos in the country.

He recalled that once the sit-in protests were held when the country was stepping in a new era of economic stability and the visit of the Chinese President was scheduled.

He said that protests were aimed at damaging the confidence of friendly country China over Pakistan and sabotaging foreign investment. However, these attempts were made failed by political wisdom and national solidarity.

He said after the general elections 2018, a ‘selected government’ of PTI was formed which cancelled all the mega projects in the country, freezing all International investments.

The development process remained stopped during the three and a half years rule of the selected government, he added.

He said the State bank of Pakistan (SBP) was handed over to IMF in the name of its independence. Today, the SBP President is not answerable to anyone including the PM, Cabinet or Parliament, he mentioned.

Now, he said, the long march towards Islamabad was announced on a day when a few days before a ministerial level meeting was held between China and Pakistan in which the investment and development projects had to be decided for the next year.

He mentioned that confidence was the most important factor for investments and it was being tried to damage China’s trust.

Today, when the Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was on a visit to China and discussing about the investments in Paksitan with Chinese authorities there, the PTI was talking about long march and entering into Islamabad.

He said Imran Khan wanted the new Chief of Army Staff to be appointed on his own choice, otherwise Martial-law should be imposed.

The youth of the country was being forced towards indiscipline and we would not allow the misguiding of the nation.
