Young actor Yawar Iqbal is drawing criticism on social media for wearing a contentious Halloween costume that was modelled after Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan.

The artist made it clear that he had imitated the former first lady of Pakistan by not even keeping the appearance ambiguous.

On Halloween, Yawar Iqbal dresses as Bushra Bibi, and netizens aren’t taking it. People are considering it unislamic and disrespecting the importance of hijab and abaya in Islamic culture.

One tweeted: “The Audacity! Due to the outrage, she just posted that how Yawar Iqbal is dressed up as Bushra Bibi. You still posted it and you thought it was something, thus you posted. Imagine the mindsets….. Ridiculous.”
