Following the global success of a video of him praying with a friend in a mosque in Dubai, former American kickboxer Andrew Tate has revealed that he is a Muslim.

After a video of him learning an Islamic prayer from Tam Khan went viral, Tate announced last week that he had converted to Islam.

Andrew Tate, a controversial social media personality who has been blacklisted from most social media sites, revealed that he is now a Muslim in a tweet that was posted from his account on the social media site Gettr.

Andrew made his announcement today after being questioned about his opinions on Islam earlier this year and referring to it as “the last real religion in the world.”

Earlier this week, British Muslim and former MMA fighter Tam Khan posted a video of Andrew and him in a mosque in the United Arab Emirates.

The title of the video, Alhamdulillah, which is Arabic for “glory be to God,” showed Tam praying while Andrew imitated him.

The videos and images sparked a range of reactions on social media, and many users thought Andrew had accepted Islam.

Tam tweeted: “I myself know Andrew & mashAllah his love for Islam is genuine & it’s real.” I personally know Andrew & mashAllah his love for Islam is genuine & it’s real. No PR gimmicks. He belongs to us.

Andrew, a British-American kickboxer, was born in Luton but was reared there. He is Emory Tate’s son, a chess player.
