Does Solar Eclipse impact mood? Find out
According to astrologer Susan Miller, the eclipse is actually an opportunity to make some positive changes in your life once the dust has settled.
“You can think of eclipses as a new moon or a full moon on steroids,” Miller explained in his guide to coping with eclipses. “They have so much more energy and penetrating power than a normal solar or lunar moon. In fact, they look like three new or full moons in one.
A solar eclipse can even cause an event that seems like ‘fate’ somehow. Eclipses tend to bring truth to the surface very quickly, like a geyser of water rising forcefully to the surface.”
You might feel really uncomfortable during the October 25 eclipse, this is actually a good thing because comfortable people are usually not the cause of change, and change is the only way to learn and grow. When you’re ready to shed your cocoon and transform into the butterfly you were meant to be, think of these ways your mood might be affected during Tuesdays eclipse as tools to help you chart your new path for illuminate.
“Eclipses are truly sublime events in a philosophical sense: that is, they are an encounter with something so amazing and frightening that you lose all ability to reason,” writes Helen MacDonald in The New York Times. In fact, fear of eclipses is so common that the Smithsonian claimed it helped lay the foundations of modern astronomy.
“The terrifying sense that something is wrong with these natural occurrences has inspired a plethora of myths and rituals designed to protect people from perceived evils,” Maya Wei-Haas told the Smithsonian.
During a solar eclipse, it may feel like someone pressed the fast forward button, which may make you feel uncomfortable. “Eclipses bring events that you thought were months or years away, right on your doorstep,” Miller explained. “There is always the feeling that life is moving very fast. It is life fast forward or a great acceleration. Sometimes an event at the time of the eclipse makes us sentimental because we are very aware of the passage of time.
Solar eclipses shed light on the truth, so don’t be surprised if you discover something happening behind your back. While any betrayal is certainly heartbreaking, it can ultimately lead to positive change. Often people don’t want to see what’s happening in front of them because once you consciously know something, you may need to take action if you don’t want to.
“Sometimes it’s hard to believe that events happening in the outside world over which you have no knowledge or control would have the power to trigger such massively changing conditions at the time of the eclipse, but it’s is exactly what can happen,” Miller noted. “It can be a big or a small event that changes everything.”
Eclipses can make you feel overwhelmed and relieve something you may have to throw away, which is a good thing. Miller noted that the eclipse can help you recognize that you have too many eggs in a basket or that you have been trying to do too much and draining your energy. And this celestial event may force you to stop. “Eclipses are often a time of full appreciation, as they have the power to change everything about the area of your life that the eclipse brings out.”
