For organizing an “unethical and immoral dance event,” the Khyber Medical University Peshawar has given NCS University System notice and asked for an explanation.
Users questioned whether the dance video was appropriate or against regional cultural norms after it became popular on several social media platforms.
The Registrar of Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, wrote to the Director of NCS University System about the viral video of a college student dancing and stated that the university’s administration has taken serious notice of such “unethical and immoral” activities occurring in educational institutions.
The Registrar deemed it highly offensive to have such events with KMU’s name and insignia displayed on the stage. All educational institutions are required to uphold the moral and ethical standards of the institution throughout all extracurricular and curricular activities.
He urged the Director of the NCS University System to respond favorably to his request for an explanation of his stance within three days; else, severe disciplinary action will be taken against the institute and it would lose its affiliation.
The event, dubbed “Huner Mela,” is being brought to NCS University this time with a creative theme and many more surprising categories featuring new products and brands. The event will have a touch of culture.
