Pak-Afghan border reopened after successful Jirga with Ahmadzai tribes
The Pak-Afghan border at Angoor Adda, Lower South Waziristan District has been opened after successful negotiation between District Administration DIstrict Police and Ahmadzai tribal elders, on Wednesday.
Assistant Commissioner Wana Yasir Salman told *The Asian Mirror*, The tribal people and traders of Ahmadzai Wazir tribes closed the Pak-Afghan border at Angoor Adda, Lower South Waziristan District.
After the protest and closure of the Pak-Afghan border, the Assistant Commissioner (AC) Wana Yasir Salman Kundi and Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Wana, Dr. Sadiq Ali along with District Police Officer (DPO) Lower South Waziristan Tribal District (LSWTD) Atiq Wazir carried out successful negotiations with the Ahmadzai tribal elders, Ulema and the protesters.
After multiple rounds of talks between the elders of the 4 Ahmadzai Wazir tribes regarding their demands and few amendments in past agreements, a coordination meeting was also held with Commander 24 Brigade of Frontier Corps South and in which the demands of tribes were agreed.
A Grand Final Jirga was held, which was attended by the Commander of 24 Brigade of Frontier Corps South, AC Wana Yasir Salman Kundi, AAC Wana, Dr. Sadiq Ali, DPO LSWTD Atiq Wazir, tribal elders of 04 Ahmadzai Wazir tribes, Ulemas.
Pak-Afghan border reopened after successful Jirga with Ahmadzai tribes
All the demands were mutually agreed upon in the Grand Jirga by the district administration and tribal elders.
After the grand final jirga, the elders also held a jirga on the directives of district administration with their tribal people, ulemas and protestors to announce that their demands were agreed.
The Jirga opened the Pak-Afghan Border at Angoor Adda for all types of vehicular traffic and ended the protest.
