Centaurus fire case registered

A report related to the Centaurus Mall fire has been opened at the Margalla police station.

Under Section 436, the case has been filed. The FIA claims that unknown individuals intentionally set fire to the shopping center.

A fire had started at Islamabad’s Centaurus Mall’s food court. The fire was put out after two hours of frantic work, but no fatalities were reported.

The PAF and Pakistan Navy both provided personnel to help put out the fires.

After securing the mall, the district administration asked the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to examine the building’s structure.

Centaurus Mall Islamabad caught fire

One of the most iconic and tallest buildings of Islamabad, the Centaurs Mall has caught fire.

Before that in 2014, A fire broke out in a shop selling crafts made by artisans in the far western corner of the first floor of Centaurus

The store cashier, Kaleem Nasir, said there was a faint burning smell in the store since they opened the store on Friday morning.

At around 1 pm, a switch went off near the checkout desk, firing flames from the suspended ceiling near a room’s shop door, said Faisal Hasan, the shop manager.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a shorted fuse, officials said.

Unlike many stores in the mall, the store did not have water sprinklers. Hasan said he alerted the mall security, who arrived within “10-15 minutes”.
