According to the local news media, 18 international and domestic flights have been cancelled at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport due to dense fog that has swallowed the runway, preventing planes from landing or taking off.
On Friday, the Airport Inquiry revealed that another 22 planes were experiencing delays.
PK-186 flight from Sharjah, PK-204 flight from Dubai, PA-406 flight from Karachi, PA-306 flight from Karachi, PK-302 flight from Karachi, and PK-303 flight from Karachi were among the flights that were cancelled.
The PA-401 flight to Karachi, the PA-402 flight to Karachi, and the PA-408 trip to Karachi have all been cancelled.
Six flights heading for Lahore and Sialkot airports have been diverted to Islamabad International Airport in the previous 14 hours in a related incident.
These were the flights: International flight QR-626 was flying from Doha and was scheduled to land at Sialkot Airport, however it was diverted due to fog and now landed at Islamabad Airport.
Flight PK-204, which was diverted from Dubai to Lahore, also landed at Islamabad Airport. The flights ER-724 from Dubai to Lahore, PA-411 from Dubai to Lahore, PK-9716 from Kuwait to Sialkot, and PA-413 from Sharjah to Lahore were all diverted to Islamabad and landed.
According to accounts, all of the guests were transported to their destinations via bus.
