The robbers killed the businessman and took away 25 lakhs during a robbery incident in Tank, police said on Friday.
A Police Official said a businessman named Ikram was going to deposit an amount of Rs.0.25 million (25 lac) in a private bank when unknown armed men tried to stop him.
The business tries to escape from them but the robbers indiscriminately sprayed him with bullets from behind.
As a result of the firing, the businessman died on the spot while the robbers managed to escape from the scene after taking away the amount of Rs. 25 lac from the possession of the deceased.
According to the police sources, Police have registered a case against unknown persons under the sections of murder and robbery and started the investigation.
On the other hand, the Tajir Ittihad of Tank expressed their grief and anger against the incident.
The leader of Tajir Ittihad said the police had failed to protect the businessmen community and these types of incidents must be stopped immediately.
“As soon as possible, police should arrest the criminals and punish them according to the law”, they demanded.
Meanwhile, The local people of Tank also demanded the immediate arrest and punishment of the culprits stating the incident was “an attack on the whole business community”.
