Smog-covered Lahore becomes world’s second most polluted city.

Despite the fact that the weather in Lahore is becoming colder by the day, the city’s smog continues to worsen, with the air quality index (AQI) in the city reaching 320 on Tuesday morning, making it the world’s second most polluted city after India’s capital New Delhi.

Apart from the provincial capital, pollution continues to cover neighbouring Punjabi cities, with the situation not much different in Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad, where people are also becoming ill as a result of the poor air quality.

Breathing problems, as well as skin and eye infections, are common in these places.

Doctors have encouraged individuals to wear facemasks before going outside to protect themselves from pollution threats, as they did in the past.

Karachi, the country’s commercial capital, is also not smog-free, ranking as the world’s seventh most polluted city.

Aside from that, the weather is cold, and the weather bureau predicts that temperatures in the Sindh capital will continue to plummet.

People are turning to the sky for rain in these conditions, when the government’s actions appear to be insufficient, so they can breathe fresh air.
