On Saturday, Many rallies were carried out countrywide in remembrance of the grandson of the Holy Prophet who was martyred in the Battle of Karbala with his family.
Overall the processions took place peacefully, but in Sialkot, Shia mourners were attacked by the opposite sect people with sticks and stones in hand when they were on their way to join the Chehlum procession, said sources.
No official statement has been released by law enforcement agencies regarding this matter.
In the videos, circulating on Twitter, it can be seen people holding sticks and pistols to threaten the Shia mourners to stop the Chehlum procession.
