14 injured in Hangu tribes clash over a land dispute

Fourteen people were injured during exchange of fire between the Karbogha Sharif and Doaba tribes of Hangu over a land dispute.

The tribal troops took positions after a brawl and started firing at each other, which continued for several hours.

It is reported that the tribes have been fighting for the possession of a mountain for many decades.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hangu Mohammad Rafique Khan Momand, District Police Officer (DPO) Asif Bahadur, Army and Police officials rushed to the scene and stopped the firing after deliberations with the warring tribes.

The officials called on the warring tribes to sit together and resolve the issue through amicably while a jirga was also constituted to resolve the land dispute.
