Top 5 best-selling cars in August 2022

We present you top 5 best-selling cars in August 2022.

Sales of cars have suffered recently as a result of significant production reductions and price increases.

Particularly poor sales occurred in July and August at Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC), Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC), and Honda Atlas Cars Limited (HACL).

Some cars continued to sell well despite obstacles in the national economy and trade. In particular, Hyundai Nishat Motors Private Limited (HNMPL) outsold HACL last month, which is a significant accomplishment.

Notably, non-PAMA members United, Kia, Changan, Proton, Haval, MG, and Prince-DFSK did not provide their official sales data.

Following is a list of the top five selling cars in August:

Honda City

Following its sales over the last few months, the appeal of the Honda City has been evident.

The tiny sedan triumphed over rival subcompact vehicles including the Suzuki Swift and Toyota Yaris as well as the Toyota Corolla, one of the most well-liked vehicles in Pakistan.

Last month, HACL, which came in last place, sold only 830 units of City.

However, if the automakers figure out how to deal with import challenges, their sales will probably increase again.

Hyundai Tucson

Surprisingly, HNMPL’s star crossover, the Hyundai Tucson, has helped the company enter the bestsellers list.

The carmaker outsold several of the top sellers on our list with its amazing 985 Tucson sales in a single month.

Given the recent pricing and tax rate increases, sales of all crossover SUVs, including the Tucson, will likely continue to be below the 1,000-unit threshold going ahead.

Toyota Yaris

August saw an increase in sales for Toyota. Sales of the Yaris in particular increased significantly by 102% from July to August.

The Toyota IMC Yaris sold 1,306 units last month, placing it third among the best-selling cars in Pakistan.

Toyota Corolla

Despite a turbulent manufacturing month, the Toyota Corolla has recaptured its title as the best-selling sedan in Pakistan.

Given the continued operational depression, Toyota IMC sold 1,595 Corollas in July 2022, a strong performance for the little vehicle.

Suzuki Alto

Despite a sharp fall in sales, the Suzuki Alto continues to be the most popular vehicle in Pakistan. For the eighth month in a row this year, PSMC sold 2,293 units of the Alto, making it Pakistan’s best-selling vehicle.

Even with Alto’s sales, PSMC had a sharp decline as a result of the subpar sales of the rest of the portfolio.

Due to the dollar’s rebound, the ensuing price increases, and protracted delivery delays, all automakers, and industry experts anticipate a further fall in demand in the upcoming days.
